Unveiling the Enchanting Wonders of Flores & Komodo Islands

Nestled within the vast Indonesian archipelago lies a realm of unspoiled beauty and ancient mysteries – Flores and the Komodo Islands. This remote paradise, a haven for adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike, beckons you with its raw, untamed allure.

Flores, aptly named for its flourishing array of vibrant flora, is a land where time seems to have stood still. Its emerald-green rice terraces cascade down rugged mountainsides, creating a breathtaking mosaic of nature’s splendor. As the sun rises over Kelimutu’s tri-colored lakes, you’ll witness hues that defy imagination, casting a spell that lingers in your heart.

Day 2: Kelimutu

Departing early morning from the hotel to Kelimutu – known as the magical lakes that change colors, Kelimutu is a place naturally surrounded by myths and legends alike. Some said that the colors of the lakes foretell future events. Each lake would change color and they display different shades, despite being right next to each other. Sometimes amber, at times turquoise, then they turn green—although the science behind the changing of the color is relatively unknown. Please bring a jacket because it may be chilly! *Easy Trekking: 15-25 minutes

Watch out for monkeys! They’ll try to steal anything you leave unattended.

Upon arrival at Bena Village we will be welcomed by the local people. You are invited to walk around the Traditional houses for photo taking.

We will get to see the traditional houses and also the process of weaving ikat or sarong, as well as the arrangement of stones as an altar to give offerings to the ancestors that have existed over 1,200 years ago

DAY 4: WAE REBO

Wae Rebo is set on a flat plain in the middle of a wooded valley surrounded by rolling hills. The seven circular houses sit alone in the valley. It’s a picturesque setting.

You will always remember our night under the stars away from everything in the picturesque village of Wae Rebo and our trek along jungle paths through the countryside of Flores to the village of Wae Rebo.

Day 5: Labuan Bajo, Kelor, Kalong

Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo, we will be transferred to our boat and sail to Kelor island. Kelor is a small island located in front of the beautiful hills of Flores. It is one of the must do in the Komodo National Park as the view from the top of the island is simply breathtaking. A short hike of 15 minutes will lead us to the top where there is a panoramic view of Flores, Rinca Island and many other small islands – The perfect spot to take landscape pictures and selfies. Please get your swimsuits ready!

We can spend some time in the water refreshing ourselves.

Thousands of Bats

Our sunset will be at Kalong Island – while watching the sunset view with thousands of bats on this island. Avoid any flash photography of the bats, who are extremely sensitive to light.

Day 6: padar Island

Morning hike on Padar island to witness a very amazing view with a shape like 3 lakes. The hike to the top of Padar Island only takes about 20-40 minutes depending on your pace. There’s a cobblestone path all the way to the top now, but it’s still a pretty steep and exhausting climb. Along the way, there are some viewpoints where we can stop to rest as we work your way to the top for the best view.

KOMODO ISLAND

After the Padar island exploration, we will sail to the Komodo island – which is part of the Lesser Sunda chain of Indonesian islands, is the rugged habitat of the 3m-long Komodo dragon monitor lizard weighing over 70kg (or otherwise known as Varanus Komodoensis), is the world’s largest lizard and reptile. Komodo National Park covers the entire region and is home to more than 4,000 dragons, and is made up of rusty-red volcanic hills, savannah and forests.

Day 7: Labuan Bajo – Bali

For those who are able to wake up early, we will have sunrise photography near our hotel. We will head back to the hotel for breakfast, Free & Easy and check out.

The journey to the Komodo International (LBJ) airport is approximately 20 minutes. This would be the end of the Komodo expedition tour. We will depart home with wonderful memories and images.
